2/27 - Question I, Question D, Question Question J, Question O

Alrighty, $260 up for Pam on line one today. Very good show today having Czaben in the studio for a good hour and a half. Good times. Pam got to question 4 and got question O for the first time and dropped out.

Question I: confirmed 2/24

Question D: confirmed 2/19

Question J: confrimed 2/27 (Dr. Howard Snyder)

Question O: What was George Washington's step son's teacher's name?

Answer: Reverend Jonathan Boucher

Have a good weekend, we've $270 in the pot when we return on Monday.

-Until next time...

Thursday, February 26, 2009

2/26 - Question H, Question N

The boys first tried line 3 this morning, but got a dial tone, so Bruce on line 1 got the chance to play for $250. It was an entertaining morning on the program and the game was pretty out of sight itself. One question confirmed, one new question today.

Question H was already confirmed on February 19th.

Question N: What was William McKinley's college fraternity?

Answer: Sigma Alpha Epsilon

There will be $260 in the pot tomorrow, and anyone who is at the Gutter Bowl tomorrow, good luck!

-Until next time...

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

2/25 - Question A, Question M

The pot was up to $240 today as Terry joined the show on line 2. The first question was a repeat, and was the third time we heard question A. It was again answered correctly. We then heard question M for the first time this round.

Question A: What was Grover Cleveland's father's name? Richard (no need for middle names)

Question M: What was James Garfield's third born child's name?

Answer: James Rudolph

We're playing for $250 tomorrow.

Good luck

-Until next time...

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

2/24 - Question L

Jill was our contestant today on line 2 with $230 in the pot. The boys and Carrie had some fun with her prior to her taking the first question. It's always nice when they are a little early for the game and banter a bit with the contestants. Anyway, the game went like this:

Question I: Zachary Taylor's second eldest sister's name: Sarah Bailey Taylor (confirmed)

Question L: What was Herbert Hoover's maternal grandfather's name (MAternal is what I heard, he could have said PAternal, but I heard MA)

Answer: Theodore Minthorn

We will be up to $240 in the LW Meyers Contractor Supply prize bucket tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Monday, February 23, 2009

2/23- Question G, Question A

Well, Micah didn't fare too well today after getting the first question correct. We again had nothing but repeat questions, and haven't had a new question asked since last week Wednesday, the 18th.

Today's repeats were question G about James Buchannon and question A about Grover Cleveland. I will direct you to the complete list of quesitons and answers for details.

$230 will be up for grabs tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Friday, February 20, 2009

2/20 - Question C, Question K

A new question was asked today and $210 was in the pot as it should have been. Sarah was on line 4 today, and Carrie corrected her mistake from yesterday when their should have been $200 in the pot, and today correctly noted the jackpot at $210.

Question C has already been confirmed, so I'm not going to repeat it here.

Question K: What was Grover Cleveland's chief cancer surgeon's name?

Answer: Dr. Joseph D. Bryant

Now, there were a number of other doctors who were in on the surgery, but Dr. Bryant seems to be the lead surgeon. If you find something else, please let me know.

-Until next time...

Thursday, February 19, 2009

2/19- Question D, Question H, Question E, Question F

This was pretty early in the round to have 4 repeat questions asked, but we got there today, and what a game it was. Ekk (Zach) was the contestant on line 2 with $190 in the pot again today. It was $190 yesterday, so should have been $200 today, but Carrie said $190. Brian was reading the questions off with record speek and Ekk didn't have a problem until the pronunciation bug got him on the last question.

To recap:

Question D: What was Franklin Pierce's youngest son's name? Benjamin (confirmed)
Question H: What was Warren G. Harding's third sister's name? Eleanor Priscilla (confirmed)
Question E: What was Theodore Roosevelt's assasin's name? John Schrank (confirmed)
Question F: What was Harry Truman's mother's name? The answer given was Martha Ella Young, which was wrong. The correct answer should be; Martha Ellen Young

Hopefully $200 will be in the pot tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

2/18- Question J

A new question was given right off the bat for Josh, who was playing for $190. Not too much banter between contestant and hosts. Josh last played on 2/5 to start this round, so is 0-2 right now.

Question J: What was Dwight Eisenhower's personal physician's name?

Answer: Dr. Howard Snyder

Tomorrow we will be up to $200 in the pot.

-Until next time...

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

2/17- Question I

A little late in the day for a posting, but I was busy today and forgot until now. Good friend of the show and frequent contestant, Douglas was as entertaining as ever on line 1 today. Bob even told him he never needed to apologize for being an idiot, which is always a good thing to hear from the BnB bunch.

There was $180 in the pot today and unfortunately, Douglas was asked a new question, which he may have had the answer to, but couldn't get to it in time.

Question I: What was Zachary Taylor's second eldest sister's name?
Answer: Sarah Bailey Taylor

Again, the link to the answer will take you to a page that has the family of each President, which could prove useful in this round.

Tomorrow we will be playing for $190. Good luck everyone.

-Until next time...

Monday, February 16, 2009

2/16- Repeat Question C

I know, I know, I said I was going to post an old round over the weekend, but just never got to it. I'll put another one up sometime soon.

In the meantime, we have the Presidents category going on now and Denise was the contestant today on line 2 for $170. She apparently had not done her homework yet as the first and only question asked was a repeat.

Question C: What was Milard Filmore's second sister's name?
Answer: Julia

So, $180 goes in for tomorrow's jackpot and we play on.

Good luck everyone.

-Until next time...

Friday, February 13, 2009

2/13 - Question H

A guy who is calling all kinds of radio stations just to play games this morning was our contestant. I'm not even going to type his name or what line he was on, let's just get to the question he was asked for $160 and all of the other prizes.

Question H: What was Warren G. Harding's third sister's name?
Answer: Eleanor Priscilla Harding

It was great when the question was asked because Bob talked over the first part of it so the contestant probably couldn't hear the whole thing.

*By the way, the link for the answer is a site that give the brothers and sisters of the Presidents, so it could definitely come in handy this round.

$170 on Monday, I'll post an old round over the weekend.

-Until next time...

Thursday, February 12, 2009

2/12 - Question B, Question F, Question G

An interesting game today as Troy on line 4 got to the third question in his quest for the $150 in the jackpot. We had 2 new questions, and 2 confirmed correct answers in today's game. Troy appears to have the right idea and seemed to have a list of the Presidents and their families in front of him, which may not be a bad idea.

We've already established that fathers, mothers, sisters, sons, and assasins are going to be involved this round, so it is all going to be about Presidents and those around them, or trying to kill them.

Alright, enough, on to the questions:

Question B- What was James K Polk's father's name?
Answer: Samuel

Question F- What was Harry Truman's mother's name?
Answer: Martha Ellen Young Truman

It sounded like Brian would just accept Martha, but you may want to play it on the safe side and say the full name

Quesion G- What was James Buchanan's youngest sister's name?
Answer: Harriet Buchanan Henry

Until next time...

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

2/11 - Question E

Today was quite a good round of You Still Can't Win. First of all, we were playing for $14o and frequent caller Douglas emailed me to say that he was trying to get on and if he did, was going to play to part of the crazed college student and praise God for BnB letting him on their show. This was, of course, because the boys had been playing the clip of a student at a speech last night for President Obama "mocking" (according to Brian) the President, since the show started this morning.

Unfortunately, Douglas didn't get in to deliver what would have been a great game, but we were treated to Scott on line 2 for some fun.

The boys at first couldn't get Scott to open up and give them specific answers, and once the question was asked, he gave the answer "Leonhard NehhmOY" to mock Brian a bit. Last week when the contestant won, that is how she pronounced "Leonard Nemoy", of Star Trek fame, who was the correct answer to one of the questions. Brian, usually a stickler for pronunciation, and I know from experience, let it slide and she ended up winning the round. So very entertaining for all listeners to the game.

Alright, onto today's question:

Question E: What was Theodore Roosevelt's assassin's name?
Answer: John Schrank

Good luck as tomorrow we play for $150

-Until next time...

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

2/10 - Question D

The boys could not understand the first name of the player today on line 4. At first it sounded like Thane, but I believe it was cleared up and his name is Sang. At least, that's what we're going with here. Anywho, $130 was in the pot today, and as is usual in the early stages of a new round, we got a new question right off the bat:

Question D: What was Franklin Pierce's youngest son's name?
Answer: Benjamin

Tomorrow we will be playing for $140.

-Until next time...

Answer: Samuel

We will be playing for $120 on Monday.

2/5 - New Round, Question A

2/5- Jackpot today is $100 as we're off to a new round and it seems like the topic this time will have to do with Presidents of the United States as the first question for Josh on line 1 was:

Question A: What was Grover Cleveland's father's name?

Answer: Richard

Long time player of the game Douglas noted, "...You know Brian is hella picky sometimes...unless you pronounce a name wrong and then let (her) retry......So I might say Reverend Richard Falley Cleveland..."

So, go with either Richard or some variation of Reverend Richard Falley

Welcome!

Welcome to the home for questions, answers, and banter about the popular game show on the Bob and Brian show on 102.9 The Hog in Milwaukee and 105.9 The Hog in Madison.

The game is usually played between 9:40 and 9:55 am during the second to last segment of the show. On occassion, they are running behing, or have a guest drop by, or Brian is sick and they don't play. Other than that, though, it is played everyday the show is on.

For the uninitiated, it is basically a quiz game in which you are asked a series of randomly drawn questions from a pool of 26. If you answer the 5 questions you are asked correctly, you win a myriad of prizes, including a cash prize which begins at $100 the day a new round starts, and increases $10 per day until there is a winner. Other items have included Dairy Queen Blizzards, Harley Davidson gear, photography packages from Arts Cameras Plus, Rogan's Shoes gift certificates, and on and on.

I will do my best to update everyday that I am able to hear the show, or ask others for help on questions or answers. Feel free to post comments on any questions that are asked so we can have the most accurate answer possible.

Good luck everyone!

-Until next time...
