8/12 - 8/13

Hey everyone, sorry about not posting yesterday, it was a little busy at work. Since I was on vacation last week and didn't listen to the program at all, I am going to continue identifying the questions in the order I hear them. So, if there were any new questions last week, I will have them out of order.

Yesterday, John was on line 2 and was playing for $340. The first question was new and he did not answer it correctly:

Question O: (Something like) What is merely the organized one class for oppressing the other?

Answer: Political Power

Today, Zach was the contestant on line 3, playing for $350. Again, Zach had some correct answers, but the third question was asked and he did not have the answer.

Question M: What epidemic of earlier epochs seemed an absurdity?

Answer: Over-production

Question E: What has the bourgeoisie torn away from the family?

Answer: The sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relationship into a mere money relation.

7/30 - Question F, Question N

Greetings everyone. First of all, thanks to Jeff for providing the question and answer from yesterday's game. I am glad Jeff gave us the info, because I had the answer written incorrectly (much like I had the answer to Question F incorrect).

Kem was the contestant today on the 4th line. He was playing for $250. Kem got the first question correct, which again, I had written incorrectly.

Question F: What is veiled by religious and political illusions and a substitute for naked, shameless, direct, and brutal exploitation?

Answer: Free Trade (confirmed as correct)

Question N: What happens to the laborer right after he is set upon by the manufacturer?

Answer: He is set upon by the other portions of the bourgeoisie, the landlord, the shopkeeper, the pawnbroker, etc.

Good luck everyone, $260 tomorrow.

Well, I know Jeff was the contestant on line 2 and $240 was in the pot, but other than that, I don't know anything because my iPhone connection was lost right after he introduced himself. If anyone has the q/a from today's game, please leave a comment.

7/28 - Question C, Question I, Question M

Answer: Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes

7/27 - Question H, Question L

Good morning everyone. Matt was the contestant on line 3 today with $220 in the jackpot. He answered his first question correctly, but did not answer the second (a new question) correctly.

Question H: What does the Bourgeoisie mean by freedom?

Answer: This was different from the answer I had previously and while Matt gave a long resopnse, Brian indicated it included the "key phrase", "free trade, free selling and buying". So that's what we'll go with as the answer now.

Question L: What happens to the modern laborer since he doesn't rise with the modern process of industry?

Answer: He sinks deeper and deeper below the conditions of existence of his own class.

$230 tomorrow, good luck everyone.

7/23 - Question G, Question A, Question J

Answer: The ever expanding union of the workers (confirmed)

Question A: Who has pitilessly torn asunder the motley feudal ties that bound man to his natural superiors?

This last question I am wording the way it is written in the manifesto and not necessarioy the exact way Brian read it.

Question J: Who are the slaves of the bourgeois class, the bourgeois state, ... the bourgeois machine, and above all, by the individual bourgeois manufacturer himself?

Answer: The laborers

Again, I didn't save the link to the answer, so I apologize for that.

$210 tomorrow.

Good luck everyone.

-Until next time...

Updates

Good morning all. I have some updates from the past few days. Again, these questions are long and Brian reads them quickly, so I don't always get the exact wording, if someone has other information, please share.

Today, Douglas was the contestant on line 2 and the first question was a new one. Before we get to that, however, here's what happened the past few days:

7/20 - Dylan was on line 4 with $170 in the pot. His first question was new:

Question H: Waht does the Bourgeoisie mean by freedom?

Answer: The connection between personal freedom and property rights (sorry I don't have the link to the source anymore).

7/21 - Big Mike out of Dousman was the contestant on line 1 with $180 in the pot and his first question was a repeat, which he did not answer correctly:

Question F: What is veiled by religious and political illusions and is substituted for naked, shameless, direct brutal exploitation?

Answer: The Bourgeoisie

7/22 - Again, Douglas on line 2 with $190 in the pot. The first question was new and went something like this:

Question I: Generally in most advanced countries, what must happen to all credit in order for the proletariate to wrestle all property from the Bourgeoisie?

Answer: Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exlusive monopoly.

This is a pretty difficult round, so good luck everyone.

$200 tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Monday, July 13, 2009

7/13 - Question C

Do yourself a favor and memorize the Communist Manifesto and you'll be set for this round.

I didn't get all of question C word for word, but hope I got enough to answer the question. Ben was trying to be quiet as the contestant on line 3 today with $120 in the pot. His first question was a new one and he did not have the correct answer.

Question C: Generally in the most advanced countries, what must happen to all property for teh proletariate ....... bourgeoisie? Clearly, I missed what happened at the end of that question, but I think I have enough for the answer.

Answer: There must be abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.

Yeah, it's going to be a fun round.

$140 tomorrow

Good luck everyone.

-Until next time...

Friday, July 10, 2009

7/10 - Question B

Good morning all. Our good friend Douglas was the (un)lucky contestant today on line 2. Always a pleasure to hear Douglas on the show, hopefully he will win this thing soon. $110 was on the line and of course the first question was new. I'm thinking if you have the Communist Manifesto memorized, you will do well in this round.

Question B: What happened to the weapons to which the bourgeoisie felled Feudalism to the ground?

Answer: They have turned against the bourgeoisie iteself. I know, I know, not a very sexy answer, but that's what I got from the link. If anyone finds anything else, let me know.

$120 on Monday, have a great weekend and good luck to everyone.

7/9 - New Category, Question A

Good morning all. Apparently someone won yesterday, so now if anyone has the details, please share. Moving onto today, a new round started and wow, the first question was a doozy. I am thinking this round is going to be about communism and socialism just based on the first question and the fact Brian has been crying about it for what seems like forever, or at least since the third Monday in January.

Without further ado or commentary, here we go:

Dylan was the contestant on line 4 today for $100.

Question A: Who has pitilessly torn assunder the motley feudal ties that bound man to his natural superiors?

Answer: Well, this was written by Karl Marx, but it appears the subject in his writing appears to be The Bourgeoisie. So, I'm thinking the answer is The Bourgeoisie. Check out the link for yourself and let me know your thoughts.

Answer: Well, he has 2 daughters, Esra and Sumeyye. Esra was married July 11, 2004, so the answer will probably be July 11. You'll notice if you follow the link that the article was from Tuesday, July 13, 2004, but it references the ceremony being on the previous Sunday in the fifth paragraph.

Good luck everyone, thanks again Douglas.

$120 tomorrow

Thanks to Zack and Douglas for sending me the correct question for today's game. There is a chance I may miss on Wednesday as well, there is a meeting scheduled, hopefully it doesn't run late, so if someone could make note of the question, I would appreciate it.

Perhaps we are headed down a Prime Minister or "Heads of State" category again, only time will tell.

On to question A, which again was for Patrick on line 2 and $100.

Question A: What was the name of the Prime Minister of Cambodia's wife's name?

Answer: Bun Rany

Good luck everyone, $110 tomorrow.

-Until next time...

4/21 - New Category, Question A (I need help)

Alright, so Patrick was the contestant on line 2 today with $100 in the pot. There were some other things going on around me, so didn't hear the full question and am going to need a lot of help putting this one together. All I got was something like:

What is the name of the ..... Prime Minister's.....

So yeah, I am no help today. Could someone who heard the full question please leave it in the comments.

-Until next time...

Congrats to Colleen, we start over with a new category and $100 tomorrow

Good luck.

-Until next time...

Friday, April 17, 2009

4/17 - Question P, Question E, Question M

Liz was on line 3 today, $510 in the pot. Brian is rattling off these questions at warp speed. Once again one of the James Garfield questions messed up the contestant.

The first two questions have been asked numerous times and previously confirmed correct. The third question asked was answered wrongly today and we'll review again:

Question M: What is James Garfield's third born CHILD'S name? James Rudolph
Question S: What is James Garfield's third born SON'S name? Irvin McDowell

Hopefully we can have someone get it right soon and move onto another round.

Good luck, have a great weekend.

-Until next time...

4/16 - Question D, Question C, Question I

Thanks to Scott who filled in and let me know what I missed yesterday during the game. All of the questions were repeats and all had been previously confirmed correct. $510 up for grabs today.

Good luck.

-Until next time...

Thursday, April 16, 2009

4/16 - Missed again today

Does anyone have info on how the game went today? I wasn't able to listen again.

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

4/15 - Question I, Question C, Question Q

Lana was the contestant on line 4 today with $490 in the pot. She got to the third question and failed. Brian was going especially fast today, which may have caused some confusion with the final question she was asked, but oh well.

Question I was previously confirmed 2/24
Question C was previously confirmed 2/20
Question Q was previously confirmed 4/6, unfortunately, Lana couldn't get the answer in time.

$500 tomorrow.

Good luck everyone.

-Until next time...

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

4/14 - Question J, Question P, Question T, Question W

Greetings, Duke was the contestant on line 4 today with $480 on the line. He seemed to be headed towards victory until he got to question W, which is a question where we are still not 100% sure of the answer, we just know now that it isn't Hector.

Question J: Previously confirmed 2/27

Question P: Previously confirmed 3/13

Question T: What was Chester Arthur's Continental Army vets Great-Grandfather's name? Uriah Stone (confirmed)

Question W: What was James Monroe's middle child's middle name? Duke answered Hector, and it was not correct. I have found Spence for James Spence, and Douglas, I believe found Joseph, so we are still trying to figure out which one it is.

$490 tomorrow.

Good luck

-Until next time...

Monday, April 13, 2009

4/13 - Question I, Question M

I still don't know what happened Friday, so no idea if there was a new question or old questions confirmed, but today, Michelle was on line 2 for $470. She got two repeat questions and was not able to answer the second one correctly.

Question I had already been confirmed as correct, and then she was asked question M, the one about James Garfield's third born child, and didn't have the correct answer.

$480 tomorrow

Good luck everyone.

-Until next time...

4/10 - ?

Does anyone have the info for the game on Friday? I wasn't able to listen, so if someone could post a comment with the info, I will update everything.

-Until next time...

Thursday, April 9, 2009

4/9 - Question T

First off, on Tuesday, Colleen was the contestant and she got all the way to the fifth question, which was a repeat, but she didn't have it. The game went something like this:

Question V: Isaclaar, Question A: Richard, Question F: Martha Ellen Young Truman, Question N: Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Question U: She did not have, but the answer it John Chuldenko.

Yesterday we didn't play because Anna Faris was being interviewed.

Today, $450 was in the pot for whomever was on line one, but they were dismissed because they were not paying attention and Scott was the contestant. This was very interesting because Scott believed the first question asked was a new question, when in fact, it was question T; What was Chester Arthur's Continental Army vet's great grandfather's name, which was originally asked of Josh on 3/17. While he thought it was a new question (which it wasn't) he said there are only 3 unasked questions left, which is what we have as well, so the question is what question does Scott have that we don't have?

Anyway, the answer to that question is Uriah Stone, perhaps Scott should find out site here.

$460 up for grabs tomorrow.

Good luck

-Until next time...

Monday, April 6, 2009

4/6 - Still no winner, Question S, Question Q, Question M

Well, we finally had both of the James Garfield third born... questions today. Colleen was the contestant on line 2 with $420 up for grabs.

Question S: What was James Garfield's third born SON'S name? Irvin (confirmed)
Question Q: What was John Tyler's thirteenth child's first wife's name? Anne Baker Tucker (confirmed)
Question M: What was James Garfield's third born CHILD'S name? Colleen gave the answer of Irvin again, but as we know, it is actually James Rudolph

Again, credit goes to Douglas for noticing that a few weeks ago.

$430 tomorrow, good luck everyone.

-Until next time...

No new questions

Sorry for not having an update after Tuesday last week. From Wednesday on, we didn't have any new questions or answers confirmed for the first time.

Today, I believe there is $420 or $430 in the pot.

Good luck

-Until next time...

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

3/31 - Question P, Question W

Good morning everyone, Douglas was the contestant today, didn't catch the line, but $380 was in the pot. Again, I don't know why the jackpot has decreased, but oh well. The first question today was a repeat, and was actually one Douglas heard the first time it was asked.

Question P: Confirmed 3/13

Questino W: What was James Monroe's middle child's middle name?

Answer: Spence

Good luck everyone

-Until next time...

Monday, March 30, 2009

3/30 - Question V

Welcome back to Bob and Brian and welcome back to followers of YSCW. After the long lay-off, JT was the contestant on Line 2. This is the third time JT has been lucky enough to play this round and for the third time (according to my records) did not answer the first question correctly. This was, however, the first time he received a brand new question.

An interesting note, Carrie said the jackpot was up to $370 this time around, which is odd, because we were at $390 the last time the game was played on 3/19. Also interesting is the last time JT played, 3/16, $370 was what he played for. Alright, enough nonsense, onto the question:

Question V - What was Calvin Coolidge's wifes' father's middle name?

Answer - Isaaclar

Apparently $380 is up for grabs tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Friday, March 20, 2009

3/19 - Question U

Sorry for the delay everyone. It was a busy couple of days. Luckily, Wednesday the Chris Bosio interview took up 2 segments at the end of the show, so we didn't get to play the game. YSCW made it's triumphant return to the airways yesterday when $390 was in the pot for Scott on line one.

The first question was new and Scott did not answer it correctly. There were some other things going on around me when the question was asked, so if this is not what you have, please let me know.

Question U: What was Jimmy Carter's oldest son's second wife's oldest son's name?

Answer: First off, Jimmy Carter's oldest son's name is John William "Jack" Carter. His second wife's name is Elizabeth (Barsfield) Carter. It appears that her oldest son's name from a first marriage is; John Chuldenko, so that's what I'm going with.

We're up to $400 the next time we play the game. It won't be today as the boy's took the day off after getting back from AZ. Now, it has been tradition they take the week after AZ off for vacation, which means we wouldn't be playing for a while. However it isn't known yet wether or not they will be off. They haven't mentioned anything which seems to mean they will be on the show next week, but Gasman said they were off next week during his show on Wednesday, so I guess we'll find out when Eric wraps up today.

-Until next time...

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

3/17 - Question P, Question C, Question O, Question T

Good morning, sorry for the delay in getting this posted, but I had a meeting that rang long. Josh was on line 4 this morning and playing for $380. We are up to question T as Josh received a new question after 3 correct answers.

Question P: What was Theodore Roosevelt's younger sister's husband's name?

Answer: Douglas Robinson - confirmed 3/17)

Question C: confirmed 2/20

Question O: confirmed 3/2

Queston T: What was Chester Arthur's Continental Army vet's Great-Grandfather's name?

Answer: Uriah Stone

sorry I don't have the link for the source, I think it was wiki

$390 tomorrow

-Until next time...

Monday, March 16, 2009

3/16 - Question S

Wine touring, love-making JT from the Falls was the contestant on line 2 this morning. He received a repeat question, and it was once again, one of the the James Garfield questions, this time, it was the third born son one.

Question S: What was James Garfield's third born son's name?

Answer: Irvin McDowell

$380 on the line tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Friday, March 13, 2009

Question M controversy - Thanks Douglas

Thanks go to Douglas for pointing this out and I can't believe I didn't realize this before he wrote to me.

On February 25th, we had Terry get question M for the first time; What was James Garfield's third born child's name? Our answer was found to be James Rudolph, however, when Scott gave that answer on March 2, it was deemed incorrect.

The question asked of Scott on March 2nd was What was James Garfield's third born SON's name? For that question, the answer is Irvin McDowell.

We had the question come up again yesterday, asked as What was James Garfield's third born CHILD's name, but the caller was unable to respond.

So, it appears we have 2 separate questions here. James Rudolph is James Garfield's third born child and Irvin McDowell is James Garfield's third born son.

Technically, the SON question should be question P, but since I didn't notice it until now, we are putting it at the end of our list and it will be question S.

Hopefully this will clear some things up and make sure you listen carefully to the question.

-Until next time...

3/13 - Question P and Question N

Joe from Indianapolis was on line 1 this morning and looking for $360. Thanks Douglas for getting me the second question from today. We got confirmation on Question P today, and it was the answer we had.

Question P: What was Theodore Roosevelt's younger sister's husband's name?

Answer: Douglas Robinson (definitely need the full name)

Question N: What was William McKinley's college fraternity?

Answer: Sigma Alpha Epsilon

$370 on Monday from AZ

-Until next time...

Thursday, March 12, 2009

3/12 - Question M

Louis or Louie or something was on line 3 this morning and played for $350. He got question M right off the bat, and this is the question we thought was James Rudolph, but Brian didn't accept that answer on the 2nd, so now we're going with a different answer.

Question M: What was James Garfield's third born child's name?

Answer: Irvin McDowell

$360 for the last chance of the week.

-Until next time...

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

3/11- Question O, Question K

$340 was there for the taking for Mike on line 2. He said he would probably only be asked one question, but dominated it, and got to the second question before a mis-pronunciation did him in.

Question O: confirmed 3/2

Question K: What was Grover Cleveland's chief cancer surgeon's name? Mike said Dr. Joseph Brant, which Brian deemed incorrect as he said he could not accept that answer.

Answer: Dr. Joseph D. Bryant is our answer.

$350 in the pot tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

3/10 - Question R

John was the contestant on line 1, playing for $330 and he got a new question right off the bat. I do have to say that I have a gigantic list put together of the Presidents and their families, and was able to find the correct answer before the buzzer rang. Now, if only I get on Thursday when I'm working from home.... Anyway, onto the quesiton.

Question R: What was James Monroe's wife's maiden name?

Answer: (Elizabeth) Kortright

$340 tomorrow

-Until next time...

Monday, March 9, 2009

3/9 - Question B, Question H, Question Q

Two previously confirmed questions and a new question today for Lana on line 4. Lana was playing for $320 today.

Quesiton B: confirmed 2/12
Question H: confirmed 2/19

Question Q: What was John Tyler's thirteenth child's first wife's name? Well, his thirteenth child was Lyon Gardiner Tyler, so that's the first part.

Answer: Anne Baker Tucker

Good luck to all, $330 tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Friday, March 6, 2009

3/6 - Question L

JT was the contestant today, didn't catch the line, but $310 was the jackpot. The quesiton was a repeat:

Question L: What was Herbert Hoover's maternal grandfather's name?

Answer: Theodore Minthorn

$320 on Monday

Have a great weekend, good luck

-Until next time...

Thursday, March 5, 2009

3/5 - Question J, Question D, Question P

The always classy Douglas was the contestant on line 3 today. Carrie confirmed again today that $300 was in the prize bucket. Douglas last played on February 17th and received question I for the first time and was out right away. Today, he had better luck, but received another new question.

Question J: confirmed 2/27
Question D: (which is now tied with question H for most asked this round with 4 times each) confirmed 2/19

Question P: What was Theodore Roosevelt's younger sister's husband's name? Corinne is his younger sister.

Answer: Douglas Robinson (too bad you didn't just shout out your name today, Douglas)

$310 will be in the LW Meyers Contractor Supply prize bucket tomorrow.

Good luck

-Until next time

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

3/4 - Question B, Question K

2 repeats today for Colleen on line 3. Now, yesterday, we were supposed to be playing for $280, but the Def Leppard interview went long, so we didn't play. Carrie said there was $290 in the pot today, so we'll see if they are actually adding the money even though there wasn't a game played, or if we will again have $290 in the pot tomorrow. In the meantime, on to today's questions:

Question B was asked again and was previously confirmed on 2/12

Question K: What was Grover Cleveland's chief cancer surgeon's name?

Answer: The answer I have found is Dr. Joseph D. Bryant, but no confirmation.
Let me know if you have found another answer.

Tomorrow we'll either be playing for $290 or $300

-Until next time...

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

3/3 - Def Leppard

Greetings. Because of their interview with a Def Leppard member running long today, BnB did not play the game. Considering they are going to be taking their annual March week off in the very near future, this round is probably going to seemingly go on forever.

We will try tomorrow for $280.

-Until next time...

Monday, March 2, 2009

3/2 - Quesiton H, Question N, Question O, Question M

Greetings, 4 repeat questions for Scott on line 3. $270 was in the pot today and he breezed through the first three questions. On the 4th we learned that one of the answers we have is wrong. So we'll see what happens. Onto the details.

Answer: Sigma Alpha Epsilon

Question O: What was George Washington's step son's teacher's name?

So we press on, $280 in the pot tomorrow

-Until next time...

Thursday, February 26, 2009

2/26 - Question H, Question N

The boys first tried line 3 this morning, but got a dial tone, so Bruce on line 1 got the chance to play for $250. It was an entertaining morning on the program and the game was pretty out of sight itself. One question confirmed, one new question today.

Question H was already confirmed on February 19th.

Question N: What was William McKinley's college fraternity?

Answer: Sigma Alpha Epsilon

There will be $260 in the pot tomorrow, and anyone who is at the Gutter Bowl tomorrow, good luck!

-Until next time...

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

2/25 - Question A, Question M

The pot was up to $240 today as Terry joined the show on line 2. The first question was a repeat, and was the third time we heard question A. It was again answered correctly. We then heard question M for the first time this round.

Question A: What was Grover Cleveland's father's name? Richard (no need for middle names)

Question M: What was James Garfield's third born child's name?

Answer: James Rudolph

We're playing for $250 tomorrow.

Good luck

-Until next time...

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

2/24 - Question L

Jill was our contestant today on line 2 with $230 in the pot. The boys and Carrie had some fun with her prior to her taking the first question. It's always nice when they are a little early for the game and banter a bit with the contestants. Anyway, the game went like this:

Question I: Zachary Taylor's second eldest sister's name: Sarah Bailey Taylor (confirmed)

Question L: What was Herbert Hoover's maternal grandfather's name (MAternal is what I heard, he could have said PAternal, but I heard MA)

Answer: Theodore Minthorn

We will be up to $240 in the LW Meyers Contractor Supply prize bucket tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Monday, February 23, 2009

2/23- Question G, Question A

Well, Micah didn't fare too well today after getting the first question correct. We again had nothing but repeat questions, and haven't had a new question asked since last week Wednesday, the 18th.

Today's repeats were question G about James Buchannon and question A about Grover Cleveland. I will direct you to the complete list of quesitons and answers for details.

$230 will be up for grabs tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Friday, February 20, 2009

2/20 - Question C, Question K

A new question was asked today and $210 was in the pot as it should have been. Sarah was on line 4 today, and Carrie corrected her mistake from yesterday when their should have been $200 in the pot, and today correctly noted the jackpot at $210.

Question C has already been confirmed, so I'm not going to repeat it here.

Question K: What was Grover Cleveland's chief cancer surgeon's name?

Answer: Dr. Joseph D. Bryant

Now, there were a number of other doctors who were in on the surgery, but Dr. Bryant seems to be the lead surgeon. If you find something else, please let me know.

-Until next time...

Thursday, February 19, 2009

2/19- Question D, Question H, Question E, Question F

This was pretty early in the round to have 4 repeat questions asked, but we got there today, and what a game it was. Ekk (Zach) was the contestant on line 2 with $190 in the pot again today. It was $190 yesterday, so should have been $200 today, but Carrie said $190. Brian was reading the questions off with record speek and Ekk didn't have a problem until the pronunciation bug got him on the last question.

To recap:

Question D: What was Franklin Pierce's youngest son's name? Benjamin (confirmed)
Question H: What was Warren G. Harding's third sister's name? Eleanor Priscilla (confirmed)
Question E: What was Theodore Roosevelt's assasin's name? John Schrank (confirmed)
Question F: What was Harry Truman's mother's name? The answer given was Martha Ella Young, which was wrong. The correct answer should be; Martha Ellen Young

Hopefully $200 will be in the pot tomorrow.

-Until next time...

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

2/18- Question J

A new question was given right off the bat for Josh, who was playing for $190. Not too much banter between contestant and hosts. Josh last played on 2/5 to start this round, so is 0-2 right now.

Question J: What was Dwight Eisenhower's personal physician's name?

Answer: Dr. Howard Snyder

Tomorrow we will be up to $200 in the pot.

-Until next time...

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

2/17- Question I

A little late in the day for a posting, but I was busy today and forgot until now. Good friend of the show and frequent contestant, Douglas was as entertaining as ever on line 1 today. Bob even told him he never needed to apologize for being an idiot, which is always a good thing to hear from the BnB bunch.

There was $180 in the pot today and unfortunately, Douglas was asked a new question, which he may have had the answer to, but couldn't get to it in time.

Question I: What was Zachary Taylor's second eldest sister's name?
Answer: Sarah Bailey Taylor

Again, the link to the answer will take you to a page that has the family of each President, which could prove useful in this round.

2/16- Repeat Question C

I know, I know, I said I was going to post an old round over the weekend, but just never got to it. I'll put another one up sometime soon.

In the meantime, we have the Presidents category going on now and Denise was the contestant today on line 2 for $170. She apparently had not done her homework yet as the first and only question asked was a repeat.

Question C: What was Milard Filmore's second sister's name?
Answer: Julia

So, $180 goes in for tomorrow's jackpot and we play on.

Good luck everyone.

-Until next time...

2/13 - Question H

A guy who is calling all kinds of radio stations just to play games this morning was our contestant. I'm not even going to type his name or what line he was on, let's just get to the question he was asked for $160 and all of the other prizes.

Question H: What was Warren G. Harding's third sister's name?
Answer: Eleanor Priscilla Harding

It was great when the question was asked because Bob talked over the first part of it so the contestant probably couldn't hear the whole thing.

*By the way, the link for the answer is a site that give the brothers and sisters of the Presidents, so it could definitely come in handy this round.

$170 on Monday, I'll post an old round over the weekend.

-Until next time...

2/12 - Question B, Question F, Question G

An interesting game today as Troy on line 4 got to the third question in his quest for the $150 in the jackpot. We had 2 new questions, and 2 confirmed correct answers in today's game. Troy appears to have the right idea and seemed to have a list of the Presidents and their families in front of him, which may not be a bad idea.

We've already established that fathers, mothers, sisters, sons, and assasins are going to be involved this round, so it is all going to be about Presidents and those around them, or trying to kill them.

Alright, enough, on to the questions:

Question B- What was James K Polk's father's name?
Answer: Samuel

Question F- What was Harry Truman's mother's name?
Answer: Martha Ellen Young Truman

It sounded like Brian would just accept Martha, but you may want to play it on the safe side and say the full name

Quesion G- What was James Buchanan's youngest sister's name?
Answer: Harriet Buchanan Henry

Until next time...

2/11 - Question E

Today was quite a good round of You Still Can't Win. First of all, we were playing for $14o and frequent caller Douglas emailed me to say that he was trying to get on and if he did, was going to play to part of the crazed college student and praise God for BnB letting him on their show. This was, of course, because the boys had been playing the clip of a student at a speech last night for President Obama "mocking" (according to Brian) the President, since the show started this morning.

Unfortunately, Douglas didn't get in to deliver what would have been a great game, but we were treated to Scott on line 2 for some fun.

The boys at first couldn't get Scott to open up and give them specific answers, and once the question was asked, he gave the answer "Leonhard NehhmOY" to mock Brian a bit. Last week when the contestant won, that is how she pronounced "Leonard Nemoy", of Star Trek fame, who was the correct answer to one of the questions. Brian, usually a stickler for pronunciation, and I know from experience, let it slide and she ended up winning the round. So very entertaining for all listeners to the game.

Alright, onto today's question:

Question E: What was Theodore Roosevelt's assassin's name?
Answer: John Schrank

Good luck as tomorrow we play for $150

-Until next time...

2/10 - Question D

The boys could not understand the first name of the player today on line 4. At first it sounded like Thane, but I believe it was cleared up and his name is Sang. At least, that's what we're going with here. Anywho, $130 was in the pot today, and as is usual in the early stages of a new round, we got a new question right off the bat:

Question D: What was Franklin Pierce's youngest son's name?
Answer: Benjamin

Tomorrow we will be playing for $140.

-Until next time...

Question B: What was James K Polk's father's name?

Answer: Samuel

We will be playing for $120 on Monday.

2/5 - New Round, Question A

2/5- Jackpot today is $100 as we're off to a new round and it seems like the topic this time will have to do with Presidents of the United States as the first question for Josh on line 1 was:

Question A: What was Grover Cleveland's father's name?

Answer: Richard

Long time player of the game Douglas noted, "...You know Brian is hella picky sometimes...unless you pronounce a name wrong and then let (her) retry......So I might say Reverend Richard Falley Cleveland..."

So, go with either Richard or some variation of Reverend Richard Falley

Welcome!

Welcome to the home for questions, answers, and banter about the popular game show on the Bob and Brian show on 102.9 The Hog in Milwaukee and 105.9 The Hog in Madison.

The game is usually played between 9:40 and 9:55 am during the second to last segment of the show. On occassion, they are running behing, or have a guest drop by, or Brian is sick and they don't play. Other than that, though, it is played everyday the show is on.

For the uninitiated, it is basically a quiz game in which you are asked a series of randomly drawn questions from a pool of 26. If you answer the 5 questions you are asked correctly, you win a myriad of prizes, including a cash prize which begins at $100 the day a new round starts, and increases $10 per day until there is a winner. Other items have included Dairy Queen Blizzards, Harley Davidson gear, photography packages from Arts Cameras Plus, Rogan's Shoes gift certificates, and on and on.

I will do my best to update everyday that I am able to hear the show, or ask others for help on questions or answers. Feel free to post comments on any questions that are asked so we can have the most accurate answer possible.

Good luck everyone!

-Until next time...
